Dance duo Mighty Mouse are to curate a show entitled A Disco Circus, as part of HMV's Next Big Thing festival, which will take place on 5th February 2011 at London's Jazz Cafe venue. The show follows the release of Mighty Mouse's new album 'Song With No Word', which came out on 6th December.
Mighty Mouse have previously released two mix albums called Disco Circus volumes 1 and 2 and, over the last eighteen months, they have been busy DJing around Europe and remixing for other artists, including Gorillaz and Robbie Williams. The duo are currently working on a full band album, which is due for release sometime next year.
Next Big Thing 2011 will take place between 4th and 11th February at six of London's HMV venues - the Borderline, Camden Barfly, Heaven, the Jazz Café, the Relentless Garage and Upstairs at the Relentless Garage. A number of gigs will also be held in Birmingham and Edinburgh. This is the second HMV Next Big Thing festival following 2010's event, which saw performances from Ellie Goulding, Professor Green, Marina and the Diamonds, Paloma Faith, Eliza Doolittle and You Me At Six. As well as Mighty Mouse, other artists performing this year include Clare Maguire, Fenech-Soler, Dutch Uncles and Lauren Pritchard.
