Usher has postponed four shows on his European tour over the past few days due to illness. The singer walked off stage during a show in Berlin on 12th January and has proceeded to cancel shows in Antwerp, Rotterdam and Oberhausen.
Usher is supposedly suffering from a sinus infection which has been affecting his balance. Speaking on the illness, a medical representative said: “Usher is suffering from an upper respiratory illness which is currently preventing him from performing a proper show. After consultation with doctors, he has been advised to reschedule the upcoming dates in order to get the rest he needs to ensure a complete recovery.”
The dates were some of the first plotted for the R&B star’s ‘OMG’ tour, which will be coming to the UK on January 26th in Manchester. However, Usher's representatives were quick to assert that the British dates would not be effected.
The ‘U Got It Bad’ star made a statement to his fans, apologising for the decision to postpone the shows. He said: “I have been very excited about my European tour and I deeply regret having to reschedule the shows. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience I have caused my fans. My fans are the best in the world and I am looking forward to getting better so that I can give them the show they deserve.”
Despie Usher’s long-standing reputation as a hard-working and sqeaky-clean star, fans and gossip websites have been quick to speculate over the singer’s recent ailment, some even accusing him of illicit drug abuse.
