Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has offered a number of revelations in his new autobiography ‘Does the Noise In My Head Bother You?’, including a confession that he once experimented with gay sex.
The book, which was released officially in the US yesterday (May 17th) contains a number of previously unheard tales about the singer's experimentation with narcotics and sexuality. The latest story to emerge from the text (via ABC News) reveals that Tyler once tried gay sex, but “didn’t dig it”.
Speaking in his autobiography, Tyler said: "Gay sex just doesn't do it for me. I tried it one time when I was younger, but I just didn't dig it."
The singer also confessed that in the height of his Aerosmith career he would have crew members make sure that girls showered before he met them in his hotel room, offering the fact as a testament to his cleanliness.
He wrote: "As dirty as my mind is, my body's pretty clean. Kelly [a member of the Aerosmith entourage] always made sure the girls were in the shower when I got in the room. I liked my pulchritude pristine! I can't kiss a girl that's been stage diving with 500 other guys."
‘Does the Noise In My Head Bother You?’ has provided a string of confessions which have received a sensationalist response from the US press given Tyler’s position on the ‘American Idol’ judging panel. Many have been quick to pick up on an assertion Tyler made on his experience with drugs, as he openly declares in the book: "I blew 20 million. I snorted my Porsche, I snorted my plane, I snorted my house in that din of drugs and booze and being lost."
