There are many words that you might associate with Beyonce: confident, talented, beautiful, feisty just to name a few, perhaps. However, the queen of R&B has added 'shy' to the list after claiming that she finds being with large groups of people ‘uncomfortable’.
Speaking to Dazed & Confused, the ‘Run The World (Girls)’ singer claimed that she is far more comfortable on stage than in front of large groups of people in private, claiming that people “expect a performance” even when she is not on the stage.
Speaking to the magazine, Beyonce said: “I get really uncomfortable when I’m not performing on the stage or on a photo shoot and have too many people looking at me expecting a performance. It makes me kind of shut down and become shy."
She continued: “I’m better at one-on-one conversations. I do become shy and a bit intimidated when its a large group of people, I definitely retreat. At a big dinner I just hope that no one expects anything from me. I wish I'd disappear."
Meanwhile, Beyonce recently expressed her disappointment after her upcoming album ‘4’ leaked online. The singer, who is set to headlining this year’s Glastonbury festival alongside Coldplay and U2, said the following after hearing the news: "My music was leaked and while this is not how I wanted to present my new songs, I appreciate the positive response from my fans. When I record music I always think about my fans singing every note and dancing to every beat."
