Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. is to release the debut album from his new side project Big Talk on 18th July. See below to listen to album track ‘Getaways’. Vannucci worked on the album with guitarist Taylor Milne during The Killers’ recent hiatus. Ex-Weezer bassist Matt Sharp also helped out on the album, as did The Killers’ former touring guitarist Ted Sablay. ‘Big Talk’ was produced by Joe Chicarelli, who has previously worked with The Strokes and My Morning Jacket among others.
Speaking about the album, Vannucci said: “Everything I’ve written is more or less written with the live aspect in mind. Maybe that’s from being a member of live band. I’m thinking what would really make me smile if I saw a show?”
Vannucci recently returned to performing with The Killers at Hyde Park’s Hard Rock Calling festival in June, where the band played a new track entitled ‘The Rising Tide’. They are currently working on their fourth album, the follow-up to 2008’s ‘Day & Age’.
