Radiohead’s Philip Selway to Release New EP ‘Running Blind’

Wednesday, 13 July 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

Radiohead drummer Philip Selway has released details of his new EP ‘Running Blind’, which is due out on 25th July. Following the release of Radiohead’s eighth album ‘The King of Limbs’ earlier this year, Selway is to take a very short break from the band to unveil his latest solo offering. The new EP follows Selway’s debut solo album ‘Familial’, which came out in August last year.

Selway wrote all of the ten tracks on ‘Familial’ and also performed lead vocals and guitar. The album featured collaborations with Wilco’s Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone, as well as solo artist Lisa Germano and former Soul Coughing bassist Sebastian Steinberg. Selway’s new ‘Running Blind’ EP features four tracks that he saved from the ‘Familial’ recordings, feeling that they worked better as a separate piece of work.

In addition to his solo work and his career with Radiohead, Philip Selway has also toured and recorded with Crowded House’s Neil Finn for the singer’s 7 Worlds Collide project. He provided drums, guitar and vocals on the project’s 2009 charity album ‘The Sun Came Out’ and also wrote two of the tracks.

‘Running Blind’ Tracklisting:
1. Running Blind
2. All In All
3. Every Spit And Cough
4. What Goes Around
