Little Feat to Celebrate 40th Anniversary with Anthology Release

LA rockers Little Feat are to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their debut album with the release of a new three-disc collection of live recordings entitled ’40 Feat: The Hot Tomato Anthology’. The album is due for release on 25th September and will feature 40 tracks spanning the band’s four-decade career.

Speaking about the new release, Little Feat guitarist Paul Barrere said: “The box sets called ‘Ripe’ and ‘Raw Tomatoes’ spanned 30 years of Little Feat live. It was really a great treat for our fans to get to glimpse into the vaults of Little Feat live. Now, thanks to Proper Records, here is a very cool sampling of the best of those live recordings we’ve done, past and present for ‘Hot Tomato’, as well as one song from ‘Kickin It At The Barn’. So check it out, 40 songs from 40 years.”

Little Feat were formed in Los Angeles in 1969 and released seven albums between 1971 and 1979. Their seventh album ‘Down on the Farm’ was the last to feature the original line-up following the death of singer-songwriter Lowell George. The surviving members of the group reformed in 1987 to record their eighth album ‘Let It Roll’ and continued to release new music right up until 2008’s ‘Join the Band’.
