An online troll answered the prayers of thousands of people across the world yesterday – as he managed to get Justin Bieber’s music videos removed from YouTube.
Bieber, the Canadian teen star whose been driving teen girls crazy for the last year, is famous for holding some of the highest viewing figures for any YouTube video, including an incredible 615million views on the video for his hit single ‘Baby’.
But the record-breaking videos were temporarily removed from the video site after the troll, named iLCreation, sent fake Copyright complaint forms to the company claiming that the videos were breaching the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, leading to the videos being swiftly removed.
While it’s understandable someone would go to that length to offline Bieber songs, the troll also went for Lady Gaga tracks too, thought it is unclear whether he succeeded in their removal. A spokesperson from a DMCA company has spoken about the ordeal.
“Someone is making false copyright claims against the Justin Bieber and Lady GaGa channels and YouTube has blocked access to the videos as a result. We are working with YouTube to resolve ASAP.”
All songs are now back online after their brief absence.
