There Will Be No R.E.M Reunion, Says Bassist Mike Mills

Legendary American rockers R.E.M have claimed they won’t ever reunite for performances in the future, following their break-up last week.
The band decided to call it a day last Wednesday, following 31 years together. But, with millions of fans worldwide, including fellow musicians like Coldplay, there was hope that they’d someday return to at least play a handful of reunion shows together – until bassist Mike Mills quashed any theories of a return to the stage for R.E.M.
“There is sadness,” admitted Mills, “Because I will never play on the same stage as Peter and Michael again. We're doing this for good reasons, and we end up looking back at all the fun, the joy and the incredible opportunities we had.
“It's not because we have to or we can't stand each other or we suck. We’re happy. But we're done.”
R.E.M will release a best of compilation later this year as their final release together. The CD will contain three new tracks - 'Hallelujah', 'A Month of Saturdays' and 'We All Go Back to Where We Belong'.
