Sonic Youth to Release New Compilation Album ‘Hits Are For Squares’

Influential alt-rockers Sonic Youth are to release a new compilation album entitled ‘Hits Are For Squares’ on 31st October. The album, which was previously only available through limited outlets, features 15 tracks from the band’s 30-year career as well as new track ‘Slow Revolution’. Each track was chosen by a well-known artist such as Radiohead, Beck, Beastie Boys’ Mike D, Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.
Also on 31st October, Sonic Youth will release a DVD entitled ‘1991: The Year That Punk Broke’. The film follows the band on their European tour from that year and features footage of some of their live performances as well as other bands like Nirvana and Dinosaur Jr.
