Having charted at Number Two with her debut single ‘Heaven’, sold out a UK headline tour and already been nominated for the ‘Best Newcomer 2011’ at this year’s Mobo Awards, it’s clear that Emeli Sande is an artist to watch for 2012.
New song ‘Daddy’ is a majestically crafted track full of depth and passion and Emeli describes it as a song about ‘addiction to anything'. The single is produced by one of the UK’s foremost producers and Emeli’s long-time collaborator Shahid Khan aka Naughty Boy. A powerful soundscape of bells, strings and haunting backing vocals, Emeli’s incredible voice and Naughty Boys’ distinctive and impeccably fresh production style combine to create an impending classic.
To support the release the 24 year old former medical student will play her first ever UK headline tour. Dates for the shows sold-out within hours and further dates have been added in both London and Aberdeen.
Emeli has also been confirmed as the main support for the Ed Sheeran Q Magazine Awards 2011 show on 22nd October at the HMV Kentish Town Forum.
