The opening night saw Swn kick-off with a bang as Charlotte Church debuted her new sound with a surprise appearance at Clwb Ifor Bach. Performing under the alias Banded Puma, Charlotte sent social media coverage into a frenzy as crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the reinvented local.
After the success of the night before, Swn then played host on Friday to the unveiling of Gruff Rhys as the winner of the inaugural Welsh Music Prize. The glamorous ceremony, which was held at Kuku Club, was hosted by Bbc Radio Wales Dj Adam Walton, and was broadcast live online and over the airwaves on Steve Lamacq's BBC 6 Music show. Set-up in student station Xpress Radio's studios, Steve's show featured a number of special guests, including The Joy Formidable, And So I Watch You From Afar and Swn co-founder Huw Stephens. The programme can be listened to HERE.

Proceedings continued on Saturday afternoon as BBC Radio Wales hosted the 'Best Of Swn Fest' showcase, presented by DJ's Bethan Elfyn and Adam Walton. Held before a guest list audience, the exclusive sessions included acoustic performances from Racehorses, Denuo, Summer Camp, Benjamin Franics Leftwich and Slow Club. In case you missed them, or would like to relive a truly special afternoon at this year's Swn, you can listen to Bethan Elfyn's Saturday show HERE and Adam Walton's Sunday show HERE.
The fun and treats continued into the evening on Saturday as rock'n'rollers Jim Jones Revue played a special warm-up show in-store at Spillers Records, which was then followed by another intimate performance by Slow Club. Continuing to shock and surprise us Y Niwl played their part in one of the most memorable moments from this year's Swn as they brought out Gruff Rhys during their third appearance in this year's festival. Along with the all familiar faces of Gruff Rhys, Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens floating around enjoying the Swn festivities, we were graced with the presence of Manic Street Preachers legend James Dean Bradfield.
To round off a series of extra-special highlights, Jen Long recapped some fine live performances from the weekend on her BBC Introducing In Wales show, featuring The Joy Formidabe, Man Without Country, Friends Electric and Creatures Of Love. Like the sounds of it? Then check it out HERE.
