Florence + The Machine's Success Has Gone To Her Head Claims Tour Support Band

Florence and The Machine’s Florence Welch has apparently let their success of the band get to her head and can be a right pain in the neck for tour crew – according to alternative hip-hop collective Clement Marfo and The Frontlines, who supported the band on their recent UK tour.

The London-based seven piece were thrilled when they found out they were lucky enough to go on tour with Florence and The Machine, and they even described the singer as a friend who was “really down to earth and cool.” But when they found out about her ridiculous backstage demands, they were less than impressed.

“When we were touring with Florence and the Machine,” the group told Taletela "I remember telling our backstage rider some of our demands and we asked for juice, beers, sandwiches and crisps. When he asked Florence what she wanted, she said ‘I want everything black. Black straws, black tissues, black curtains – everything black’. We were like ‘alright love’.”

“She made the backstage team clean her dressing room four times and then she went in and said, ‘it’s not clean.’ The venue was in Swansea, and because all of her runners were serving us as well, they were all complaining about her to us. That’s how we find out all the gossip, haha. I’ve met her before and she is really down to earth and cool but I was like ‘What?’…You sell a million copies and you start to get a big head’.”

She must be a pretty big-headed girl... she named the band after herself!
