Black Sabbath Reunite For New Album, World Tour And Download Festival Slot

It's the news nearly every rock fan in the world has been dreaming of - Black Sabbath have reunited and be going on world tour, as well as headlining 2012's Download Festival and releasing their first album for THIRTY THREE YEARS.

ImageIn what was one of the most speculated about and anticipated announcements in rock history, Ozzy, Iommi and co revealed at 11.11am (19:11 GMT) that they will be returning to the scene they once owned and ruled, to the joy of thousands of fans in attendance. They also told fans that they'd be playing top bill at next year's Download Festival, although when Download chief Andy Copping revealed that a certain headline act would be announced at the same time as Black Sabbath would making their own announcement, most already had an idea in their mind.

And, having already sold over 70 million albums together, the Grammy-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have signed a new record deal worldwide with Vertigo and Vertigo/ Universal Republic in the U.S., the band’s original label. Black Sabbath is now in the studio recording the as-yet-untitled new album for release in autumn next year - thought the exact date is still to be revealed. It will mark their ninth studio album together and their first since 1978’s Never
Say Die!

When asked why the band thought now was the right time to get back together, Iommi replied: "It was now or never, really. We have some great music to play." Ozzy added that "it was time."

The album will coincide with a massive world tour in the Autumn of 2012, so all of you Sabbath fans WILL get the chance to see your heroes once again.
