Now this is a campaign that each and every one of you readers should pledge your allegiance too – a British MP has begun a movement to get Led Zeppelin’s legendary guitarist Jimmy Page knighted by the Queen herself.
We’ve already seen many a musician knighted, including Elton John, Paul McCartney and Tom Jones – but who’s more deserving of a knighting than Jimmy Page? He’s considered one of, if not THE best guitarist of all time and his rocked-out riffs are what earned Led Zeppelin their position as one of the most iconic band’s of all time.
Conservative MP Louise Mensch is the figure behind the campaign, and said: “Clearly there is nobody more worthy of a knighthood. I am glad to say I have gathered support from every major record label in the U.K.”
What’s more is, Lousie’s husband Peter is actually the manager of some of rock’s biggest names – including, Metallica, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and, of course, Jimmy Page himself.
