Meat Loaf Calls For Message Board Ban After Users Joke At Houston Death

64 year-old rock icon Meat Loaf has expressed his disgust at users of an internet messaging board who posted offensive and derogatory comments about Whitney Houston following her death, suggesting that message boards like the one he visited should be banned.

The outspoken rocker is a big fan of Houston and has met her on a number of occasions – so he was extremely upset to have read comments from online users mocking or insulting the star’s death. He was so upset, in fact, he’s called for all message boards to be banned – so human beings ‘can go back to living and caring.’

“The first time I saw her was in London and we chatted for 45 minutes,” the star told Day & Night. “Three years later we met again. I felt a connection even though we didn’t really hang out. What’s important for performers is confidence. If someone tears your confidence you’re in trouble.

“After she passed away I was watching TV, reading articles and reading comments that were horrifying. I wanted to go through the wire and strangle these people. They are uneducated and that’s the fault of governments. One person says something and the others follow like sheep. We should ban them.”

After 40 years and selling over 100 million records, among them one of the biggest albums of all time, Meat Loaf has announced he will release his new album 'Hell In A Handbasket' on 27th February.

'Hell In A Handbasket' track-listing is as follows:

All Of Me
Fall From Grace
The Giving Tree
Mad Mad World / Good God Is A Woman And She Don’t Like Ugly
Party Of One
Live Or Die
California Dreamin’
Another Day
40 Days
Out Love & Our Souls
Stand In the Storm
Blue Sky

‘Hell In A Handbasket’ will be Meat Loaf’s twelfth studio album to date and was produced by Neverland Express guitarist Paul Crook. The legendary Chuck D co-wrote and performed on the track ‘Mad Mad World'/'The Good God Is A Woman and She Don’t Like Ugly’.
