Doobie Brothers Drummer Michael Hossack Dies Aged 65

Michael Hossack, drummer of super-selling Californian rock icons The Doobie Brothers, sadly passed away on Monday following a long battle with cancer.

The star died peacefully in his home on March 12th aged 65, following a long and illustrious career which included performing in front of huge crowds and selling over 40million records worldwide.

His long term friend and manager Bruce Cohn has released a statement following the news, which reads: “Mike was a one-of-a kind guy and a longtime member of the Doobie Brothers. He was a fighter and fought the big battle with cancer and I speak for Mike’s family and the entire band when I say he will be greatly missed.”

Doobie Brother band-mates Tom Johnson and Pat Simmons have also given a eulogy, with the pair saying: “We shared some wonderful adventures together, times I will never forget. Thanks for all those wonderful memories Mike, and all the great music. We love you.”

The band released their latest album ‘World Gone Crazy’ in 2010, which Hossack contributed to.
