Louis Walsh Attacks The Voice - Saying It's 'Dull And Boring'

Irish X-Factor judge Louis Walsh has launched an attack on BBC show The Voice – telling Heat Magazine that he is 'glad Britain's Got Talent is winning the ratings battle'.

Walsh sits alongside Simon Cowell and co. as part of the judges panel on ITV show The X-Factor, and they see The Voice as their main rivals. The BBC show has been running alongside Simon Cowell's alternative reality show Britain's Got Talent, and has been overtaken in the ratings by the show – something which has greatly pleased Walsh, who described The Voice as 'dull and boring'.

“I hate The Voice,” he told the magazine. “I think everyone thought The Voice UK would be like the US version, and it's not. It's dull and boring. I'm glad BGT is winning the ratings battle - it's much better.”

He went on to say that he'd never appear on the show, and compared it to the BBC's old, short-lived reality contest show Fame Academy.

“No way [I wouldn't coach on The Voice], it's not great TV. It's like Fame Academy all those years ago. The best thing about it are the revolving chairs, and once you've seen that, the novelty wears off.”

Walsh then turned his sites to Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am, who features as one of The Voice's judges.

“What's that man's real name anyway? It's not will.i.am, is it? He thinks he's got all the answers, but if he didn't have Fergie in the band, where would he be? Fergie is the real star. I would love her on The X Factor, and to be a judge on the show.”

He added finally: “The X Factor is the biggest show on TV and the other shows are just copying us with their silly chairs. Simon Cowell is the king of TV and if he's not involved then it's not good.”

Yesterday it was revealed that the Britain's Got Talent finalists tour had been axed – though no official statement could confirm the news.
