Damnation Festival Announces Main Stage Headliner And More For 2012

It’s the news doom fanatics from outside the capital have been waiting for as Damnation Festival has announced Dorset stoner doom gods Electric Wizard as their exclusive main stage headliner for this year’s event on 3rd November at Leeds University Union. The band, who recently sold out London’s rather large Kentish Town Forum, have not played a headline show up north since 2009 - the same year they last played Damnation. Promising to bring a full on visuals and lights show spectacular for all those who were unable to see the band perform as such in London. Frontman Jus Osborn is almost as excited as we are, describing the show, which the band has been working on for years, as “mind-destroying”.
If that doesn’t sell you on attending Damnation this year already and, frankly if it doesn’t you need to rethink that, then there are more additions to the line-up to boot.
Irish thrashers Gama Bomb will be hosting a special tenth anniversary party on the Jagermeister Stage, promising something pretty special. Also appearing will be Norwegians Aura Noir, who bring their frosty blackened thrash to the event, and the stunning 40 Watt Sun. Having released their utterly superb and unique debut album 'The Inside Room' last year the band, led by former Warning frontman Patrick Walker, play some of the most stunningly heart-breaking music known to man and their performance on the newly sponsored Eyesore Stage is going to be a UK exclusive for 2012.
These four acts join grind legends Pig Destroyer, who play their first UK show in eight years, and Yorkshire miserabilists My Dying Bride on what is shaping up to be the finest metal bill in the UK yet again. Damnation Festival Tickets are on sale for an insanely cheap £32.00 so don’t miss out! Click Here to Compare & Buy Damnation Festival Tickets.
Damnation takes place at Leeds University Union on 3rd November 2012.
