Canadian 5-piece The Wilderness of Manitoba have announced details of a six-track EP release for the UK to coincide with their forthcoming UK tour dates. The ‘Delaware House’ EP will be released digitally in the UK on 24th July and the band will start their UK tour with a show at the Lexington on 25th July.
One of the new EP's stand out tracks, 'The Ark', is available for free download from here and the video for another track from the 'Delaware House' EP, 'Forest City Love' can be viewed below.
Hailing from Toronto, The Wilderness of Manitoba have built up a strong following for their chamber folk which is characterised by layered harmonies and rich melodies.
During the recording of their forthcoming album, ‘Island of Echoes’ (due for UK release in early 2013), it became apparent that the band had far more material than could be accommodated on a single album. So, to coincide with their summer dates in the UK and the Netherlands, it was decided to prepare a special EP for their English and Dutch fans. The EP is named after a house in Toronto where all of the band have lived at one time or another, and where they have their basement studio.
