With millions flocking to websites for information on the highly sought-after Rolling Stones tickets, fans are being warned to be on the look out for online scams.
With only 30,000 Rolling Stones tickets due to be made available come tomorrow's general sale window, and despite some fans being outraged by the hefty price tag, ticketing websites are registering the highest demand for tickets they have ever seen.
Ticketmaster currently offer you the cheapest Rolling Stones Tickets at £95 (£106 including fees), while standing tickets are £375 (£406 with fees). For tiered seating, prepare to part with either £150 (£166 with fees), £225 (£246 with fees) and £300 (£326 with fees).
As with all big tour announcements, the vultures are out and preparing to scam unsuspecting music fans with no exception made for The Rolling Stones.
Stereoboard advises to only buy tickets from official outlets, such as Ticketline, See Tickets, Gigantic and Ticketmaster. When tickets for a show are sold out we advise you compare and purchase tickets with the trusted and guaranteed exchange sites that we work with such as Viagogo, Seatwave and GetMeIn.
All other sites are either brokers, speculators (selling Rolling Stones tickets they do not have possession of), or fraudsters. Stereoboard.com runs a black-list of scam websites to help music fans avoid being ripped off. The ticket scam black-list can be viewed at www.stereoboard.com/ticket-scams.
In February 2011, Stereoboard produced a viral video to warn fans against disreputable tout ticket sellers. ‘Access All Areas’, which has received over 30,000 views so far, follows the fate of a group of music fans who opt to go ‘off road’ obtaining their tickets unofficially, to blag their way backstage at a major gig. They ultimately get left out in the cold in the video. The film can we viewed at www.youtube.com/StereoboardTV or you can of course view the video below.
