British rockers The Rolling Stones have confirmed another 50th anniversary concert, announcing a show at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Centre for 8th December.
The new gig will take place in between the two London gigs and the two Newark gigs, with tickets going on sale Monday 19th November. The news comes as a boost to fans, with demand to see the band live incredibly high.
Not only is demand for The Rolling Stones tickets high, so are the prices - something which has angered many fans. Speaking to Billboard recently, Jagger defended the high prices, saying: “You might say, 'The tickets are too expensive' - well, it's a very expensive show to put on, just to do four shows, because normally you do a hundred shows and you'd have the same expenses.”
He continued: “So, yes, it's expensive. But most of the tickets go for a higher price than we've sold them for, so you can see the market is there. We don't participate in the profit. If a ticket costs 250 quid, let's imagine, and goes for 1,000 quid, I just want to point out that we don't get that difference.”
