The Modfather Paul Weller is the first artist to sign up for the Summer 2013 Forestry Commission’s Forest Live concert series. In addition, to the new Forest shows, Weller will also perform a one-off outdoor summer show at Northampton's Delapre Park. Paul Weller Ticketsare ON SALE 9AM TODAY, Friday 23rd November.
Taking place in spectacular woodland locations in East Anglia and the West Country, Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission with income from the concerts spent on improving the woodland for both people and wildlife.
Forest Live concerts take place each summer in seven forest locations around the country. Woodland clearings are temporarily transformed into a concert arena creating a safe and relaxed atmosphere for gig-goers. Over one million music fans have previously attended Forest Live concerts.
With six era-defining albums with The Jam; five with The Style Council and eleven as a solo artist including his most recent Number One release ‘Sonik Kicks’, the follow-up to 2010’s Mercury Music Prize nominated ‘Wake Up The Nation’, Paul Weller continues to garner acclaim from the media, respect from his peers and adulation from his loyal fan base.
Having performed previously to capacity crowds in 2004 and 2009, Paul Weller said: “It will be good for me to be back in the woods. I really enjoy the unique atmosphere of these gigs as do the fans.”
