Barbados-born beauty Rihanna has finally confessed that she is back with American rapper and singer Chris Brown, who controversially assaulted her back in 2009.
The celebrity couple split after the controversial incident, with Brown receiving a six-month community service order - he still remains on probation to this day. But, they seem to have been rekindling their love for one another over the past year, with RiRi even duetting with him on the track ‘Birthday Cake’. Now, it seems they’re ready to admit they’re back together - with Rihanna stating that even if people think she’s making a mistake, the mistake is hers to make.
Rihanna told Rolling Stone: “I decided it was more important for me to be happy. I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of that. Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”
The star even goes on to defend Brown, saying: “He made a mistake, and he's paid his dues. He's paid so much. And I know that's not a place he would ever want to go back to. And sometimes people need support and encouragement, instead of ridicule and criticism and bashing.”
She added finally: “When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it's different now. We don't have those types of arguments any more. We talk about shit. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that.”
Rihanna brings her Diamonds world tour to the UK this summer, with huge demand resulting in new gigs being added this week. If you’re a fan, check the dates and links below to find Rihanna tickets through Stereoboard.
