The 2013 Steelhouse Festival will headlined by two of rock music's biggest names, heavy metal legends Saxon and iconic guitarist Michael Schenker.
Due to a small production problem, the release date of Saxon's forthcoming new album has gone back a week to 4th March. 'Sacrifice', the band's 20th album, features 10 of Saxon's strongest, heaviest, most inspired songs for many-a-year. "Less tricks, More Power" says frontman Biff Byford.
One of the front-runners of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal era, Saxon (pictured, right) scored chart success with singles '747 (Strangers In The Night)' and 'And the Bands Played On'. Now, 35 years on from their formation, Saxon are still rocking hard - are back with their 2013 'Sacrifice' tour and an appearance at Steelhouse Festival. The critically acclaimed guitarist Michael Schenker released his 'Temple of Rock: Live In Europe' album/DVD at the end of last year. The concerts recorded were recorded and filmed in Tilburg, the Netherlands in May 2012, and at 2011’s London’s High Voltage Festival. Schenker will head out on a UK tour to support the record in April. Click Here to Compare & Buy Michael Schenker Tour Tickets.
The family-friendly Steelhouse Festival, now under the banner of Planet Rock, returns on the weekend of July 27th and 28th for its third consecutive year, announcing its biggest line-up to date.
The appearances by both Saxon and Schenker will be exclusive to Steelhouse, with the performances being the only UK festivals the artists will play this year.
Speaking about this year's festival, as well as the new partnership, Planet Rock said: "We have worked with the organisers over the past two years and admired their honesty and integrity. This festival epitomises what Planet Rock is about and we just wanted to part of it and make it bigger and better."
Also announced for the line-up are rising outift The Temperance Movement, Fighting Wolves, Heaven's Basement and Buffalo Summer. There are many more acts to be confirmed during the build-up to the festival, check back to Stereoboard for further updates.
Steelhouse Festival takes place on idyllic farmland in the heart of the Welsh countryside of Gwent, you can head over to the festival's official website for more information.
