Arctic Monkeys To Headline Pyramid Stage On Friday Night At Glastonbury Festival?

Sheffield indie-rockers Arctic Monkeys have reportedly been lined-up to headline the Friday of this year’s Glastonbury Festival, according to a source in The Sun today.
The band performed at the festival back in 2007, a time when they were a considerably less famous band than they are now. Nowadays, though, they’re a world-beating outfit - so much so that they were recently asked what there was left for the band to achieve.
Frontman Alex Turner, however, believes there’s a ‘lot left’ to accomplish, telling press that he and the and would ‘really like another shot at headlining Glastonbury’. Well, according to a source in The Sun newspaper today, the group have been granted their wishes.
The source told the tabloid: “There’s still a way to go until the festival so anything could happen but the Arctic Monkeys have been given the Friday slot. Festival bosses know that they’re a good group to get the crowd going.”
If the reports turn out to be true, we imagine there won’t be many fans disappointed - but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement before we truly know. For now, stay with Stereoboard to stay up-to-date on the Arctic Monkeys and Glastonbury Festival 2013.
