The Black Keys' Patrick Carney Gets Into Twitter War With Justin Bieber Fans

Patrick Carney - one half of award-winning rockers The Black Keys - changed his Twitter name to ‘Justin Bieber’ last weekend, as he continues to war with the Canadian tween star.
The drummer got into a spat with Bieber recently, after subtly making a dig at the star at the Grammy awards - at which Bieber received no nominations. Carney told press: “He's rich, right? I mean, I don't know. Grammys are, like, for music, not for money, and he's making a lot of money. I don't know – he should be happy, I guess.”
Responding to the comments, Bieber posted via Twitter that Carney should be ‘slapped up’, starting what turned into a very entertaining argument. Carney’s next move was to change his Twitter handle to ‘Justin Bieber’.
Although he’s now reverted back to his own name, he made the change in an attempt to piss off Bieber’s legions of fans - and it worked incredibly well. Amongst the thousands (literally, thousands) of tweets Carney received, in which he was repeatedly called ‘old’, ‘ugly’, ‘pathetic’, and ‘a faggot’, there were some real gems - check them out below (all sic).
One user - @pradadrews - tweeted that ’Patrick Carney is a fucking horse dick that tastes like moldy wasabi pass it on’, while @rachelmuurphy bluntly said ‘Patrick gay ass carney needs to get the fuck out’. @s0swaggy clearly has no time for Carney, and wrote ‘How could you hate on justin for not getting a Grammy while your sitting there like a faggot ass playing cheap ass drums like bye’. Check out Carney’s Twitter feed and you’ll find a range of other hilarious Bieber fan tweets.
Carney has now changed his name back, but is still getting bombarded with tweets - and he’s since written of the ordeal:
Getting so many tweets from sad souls because I am not afraid to do what I love and speak my mind. It's really fucking pathetic. Bummer.
Bieber hasn’t yet commented on the Twitter beef, probably because he’s in the midst of his UK tour. If you’re a fan, check the dates and links below and see if you can snap up some tickets before he heads to Europe later in March!
