Beck To Release Acoustic Album, According To Reports

Eclectic singer-songwriter Beck is reportedly working on an acoustic album, and will release it later this year.
The 42 year-old last put out an album in 2012 with ‘Song Reader’, but rather than recording the music himself, he released it as sheet music, and encouraged others to record themselves playing it. Following that LP, Beck found a ‘burst of inspiration’ which has led to him working on an acoustic album, according to Pitchfork.
Pitchfork also claims that Beck has described it as a ‘self-contained work’, and that he’ll be premiering tracks from the album at his up and coming solo acoustic shows in the US, which take place at the Days Off Festival, the Americanarama Festival, and the Newport Folk Festival in July.
Speaking to NME last year, Beck revealed that he had two albums in the works, which could both see a release in 2013 - with one of them potentially being this previously mentioned acoustic record. He told the site:
“There is music and it's coming! I have this one record I started in 2008. It got put to the side for a long time but recently I've been mixing some of the songs. I'm not sure if they'll be singles or EPs or an album but it'll come out in some way and it sounds... sonically adventurous. I also have a record that I recorded last year in Nashville, which I may or may not finish.”
No dates, names, tracks, or previews have been released as of yet, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out more - stick with us and we’ll let you know what Beck gets up to later in the year! Are you excited for more Beck music? Let us know in the comment section below.
