American punk-rockers Green Day have officially set a new attendance record for the Emirates Stadium in London, following their epic gig their at the start of the month.
The world-famous band, who’ll be headlining this summer’s Reading and Leeds Festivals, have become the first ever act to sell each and every one of the venue’s 60,000 tickets, ensuring the gig was one of the most memorable of their career.
Performing crowd favourites dressed in wacky costumes and in high spirits, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, Tré Cool, and the band’s long-time touring member and now-official second guitarist Jason White blew the metaphorical roof off the stadium.
The band last performed in London back in 2010, when they smashed out a wicked show in Wembley Stadium, and they marked the occasion with a career-spanning set, ranging from tracks from their first album ‘39/Smooth’, to smash-hit ‘Basket Case’, newer track ‘American Idiot’, and tunes from their latest album trilogy ‘¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!’.
You can check out some tweets from some of those lucky enough to have gone to the gig below - you’ll also find a video of them performing ‘Basket Case’. If you it’s all too much for you, and you want to catch them live in the UK too, follow the links to find Reading or Leeds Festival tickets through Stereoboard.
I want to see Green Day again! What a fantastic weekend #greendayemirates
