MIA has unveiled the artwork for her brand new album ‘Matangi’.
The 38-year-old star - who is currently involved in a legal case with the NFL over her Super Bowl middle finger - releases her fourth album on November 5, and ahead of it hitting shelves, she’s taken to Tumblr to reveal its artwork.
Earlier this year, MIA previewed the first second single from the record, Bring the Noize. The track - which mixes sharp beats, dissonant samples and MIA's distinctive rhymes - was given a first spin by Zane Lowe on his Radio One show on June 17.
But more recently, MIA premiered its third single Come Walk With Me, which you can check out below. Both tracks follow the first slice from the LP Bad Girls, which came out over 18 months ago.
It’s a breath of fresh air from MIA, who hasn’t had the best of times with the NFL case. The rapper appeared alongside superstars Madonna and Nicki Minaj at the Super Bowl XLVI to perform their single Give Me All Your Luvin', during which she decided to flip the bird and mouth: "I don't give a shit".
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the NFL claims that the finger-flip was "in flagrant disregard for the values that form the cornerstone of the NFL brand and the Super Bowl". They're after $1.5 million in compensation.
