Jared Leto: 'I Turned Down Offer To Direct Kanye West Video'

Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto has revealed that he turned down the chance to collaborate with Kanye West on a music video.
Leto is a more than accomplished actor, and the multi-talented man has been directing music videos for over five years, but when rap superstar Kanye West asked for his help, Leto had to politely decline.
“I'd been asked by various people to direct videos, people like Kanye West have reached out, and that's always really flattering, but it's hard to find the time to do that for other people. Usually when I make a video, directing, editing, production, it takes me months and months and months.
“It's not really a short-term affair, so I tend to not really have the time to do it for other people. It'd be fun to, at some point, you never know.”
It wouldn’t have been the first time the pair worked together - West once produced a track for Leto and his world-beating rock band (2010’s Hurricane 2.0), the music video of which was coincidentally directed by Leto, and later banned for featuring rather explicit content.
Thirty Seconds to Mars kick off their own UK tour in November, with their first gig taking place in Cardiff on November 14.
