A new Prince documentary is due out next year.
According to Screen Daily, Prince: R U Listening? will be directed and produced by Michael J Kirk and feature Bono, Mick Jagger, Billy Idol, Lenny Kravitz and Sheila E. An exact release date for the biopic is yet to be confirmed, but it's expected to arrive within the first half of 2017.
It was also recently announced that a four day celebration of the funk icon's "life and legacy" will take place at Paisley Park in April. According to the event's website, it will feature "live music, panel discussions and presentations on Prince’s tremendous talent, influence and importance as a composer, musician, producer, live performer and filmmaker." Tickets are on sale now, with prices ranging from $499-$999.
Meanwhile, the 'Prince 4Ever' compilation, which included the previously unreleased track Moonbeam Levels, was released last week. A reissue of his 1984 album 'Purple Rain' is also duo out early next year via NPG Records/Warner Bros and is expected to feature a bonus disc of previously unreleased material. The collection is said to have been agreed with Prince prior to his death in April.
