Iggy Pop And Danger Mouse Team Up For New Track Gold

Friday, 13 January 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Iggy Pop has teamed up with producer Danger Mouse for a new track.

Gold was written for the soundtrack to a movie of the same name, which stars Matthew McConaughey and is due out January 27.

Discussing the collaboration with Rolling Stone, who premiered it, Iggy said:

"In the studio, he very assiduously and energetically directed the vocal, which is what I want when you're working with a producer. Phrasing, intonation, vowel pronunciation – a lot of stuff like that. Little by little, the thing kept getting better and more conversational and less sing-songy."

Iggy Pop released 'Post Pop Depression', on which he worked with Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme, last spring. It picked up four stars from us.
