Marshmello And Bastille Share Happier Collaboration

Friday, 17 August 2018 Written by Jon Stickler

Marshmello and Bastille have teamed up for a collaborative single, Happier.

The track, which is released through Positiva Records and penned by Bastille frontman Dan Smith with Steve Mac, acknowledges the uncomfortable truth that loving someone sometimes requires we step aside so they can find happiness. Discussing it, Smith said:

"We wrote Happier last year and thought it would be great as a collaboration. We had a lot of fun working on it with Marshmello, who managed to find joy in the melancholy. It’s always good to step into somebody else’s world for a minute."

Marshmello has collaborated with a string of artists over the last year, creating chart-topping singles with the likes of Selena Gomez, Khalid, Migos, Logic and more. He recently worked on Friends with Anne-Marie before releasing his second album, 'Joyride II', in June. He also performs at South West Four in London later this month.

Bastille, meanwhile, have had a busy summer playing festivals across Europe and appear at the inaugural RiZe Festival this coming weekend, finishing with a run of dates across Hong Kong, China and Australia. Their second album, 'Wild World', was released in 2016.
