Massive Attack have pushed back their planned reissue of ‘Mezzanine’.
The band’s 1998 LP was set to arrive in a new set of clothes, including previously unheard Mad Professor dub remixes, on November 16 but that date has been scrapped due to “unforeseen production issues”. In a statement posted to Twitter they said the collection will land “early next year now”. “Sorry to everyone who’s pre-ordered and thank you, as ever, for your support,” they added. The new release date is January 25.
Due to unforeseen production issues Mezzanine will now released early next year now.
Sorry to everyone who’s pre-ordered and thank you, as ever, for your support.
Beginning early next year Massive Attack will celebrate ‘Mezzanine’ with shows in Glasgow, Manchester, London and Dublin, prior to two nights at Steel Yard in their hometown of Bristol. Among their collaborators for the tour are Cocteau Twins vocalist Elizabeth Fraser, who sang on three songs from the LP, including the hit single Teardrop, while the show has been designed by the band's Robert Del Naja, who said: “It’s going to be a one off piece of work; our own personalised nostalgia nightmare head trip.”
