Teenage rock sensations Arctic Monkeys are set to release a full length movie.

The Sheffield band, who caused a massive media frenzy last year with their online success, have the fastest selling album of 2006 with 'Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not'.

The film will be in a documentary style, and is directed by Jon McClure, the lead singer of Reverend And The Makers, and also a close friend of the band.

The project was revealed at the Cannes Film Festival by Peter Carlton, head of FilmFour Lab. He says the film will be, “a kind of music documentary, with lots of fable and fiction and music."

Arctic Monkeys have had phenomenal success since their discovery on music networking site MySpace, and they have since gone on to release their multi-platinum debut record through independent label Domino, also home of Franz Ferdinand.
