Jane's Addiction Frontman Perry Farrell Announces New Solo Album 'Kind Heaven', Shares First Single

Perry Farrell will release his first solo material in 18 years this summer.
Led by the first single Pirate Punk Politician, 'Kind Heaven' is out on June 7 via BMG and marks the Jane's Addiction singer and Lollapalooza creator's first collection of new music since 2001's 'Song Yet to Be Sung'. Farrell described the new track as, "a good old fashioned protest song about today's strongmen and their tactics of oppression."
Co-produced by Farrell and longtime David Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti, the album finds Farrell working with a number of guests, including Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters, the Cars' Elliot Easton, and Dhani Harrison (George Harrison's son), among others, in a collaborative collective he's calling the Kind Heaven Orchestra.
Farrell will accompany the album's release with a North American tour, kicking off in New York City. The run also includes stops in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Nashville, Atlanta, Detroit, and Toronto.
The European leg of the tour, meanwhile, features live dates in Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Paris, and London, where he'll play three dates at The Box towards the end of July. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on April 5.
