Kazu Makino is going out on her own.
The Blonde Redhead founder, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist has announced a solo project under the moniker Kazu, and will release her debut LP ‘Adult Baby’ through her new imprint of the same name, later this year.
Stepping away from her previous alternative rock tendencies, the album’s first cut Salty is a pulsing electronic track weaving dynamic, elongated vocals patterns with textured synths and percussion. Its accompanying video, filmed on Italy’s Elba Island, draws on the senses with imagery of sand and the sea.
