The Hives are back!
The Swedish rockers have announced their first album in seven years. Though yet to have a firm release date or title, we do know it's due to arrive at some point in early 2020. They have, however, shared the first single, which will get a physical 7" release on June 7 through Jack White's Third Man Records.
I’m Alive is a big, bold, indie rock earworm of a comeback, with vocalist Pelle Almqvist asking: “Did you miss me boys and girls?”
We certainly did. Discussing the track with DIY, he said:
“I’m Alive is a song about crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance that sounds like crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance because it is a band crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance. Use it in your own life to help you obliterate your own resistance!”
The Hives are set to headline a Heritage Live concert in Saffron Walden in July, with support from the Fratellis and the Sandinistas, as well as co-headline shows with Refused in the US this month.
