Hayley Kiyoko has dropped a new single, I Wish.
Discussing its choreography-heavy video, which stars an all-female cast and which she self-directed, the singer said:
“It’s really hard when you love someone who doesn’t feel the same way. In this video, I wanted to bring to life the support group we all need when our love for someone isn’t being reciprocated. Having a strong support system of friends is so important to remind us we are loved, and we are not alone.”
The track marks Kiyoko's first release since the arrival of her debut album, 'Expectations', in March 2018. It's an R&B influenced alt-pop track, with heartfelt lyrics recounting an uncaring partner. "We butt heads cause you don't pay me no attention, and you're selfish with your affection," she sings.
Kiyoko will return to the UK in August for festival sets at Reading and Leeds
