Sheer Mag Share Video For New Single Hardly To Blame

Monday, 22 July 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Sheer Mag have released a new song and video.

Hardly To Blame follows the previously shared Blood From A Stone as the second taste of the Philadelphia band's upcoming sophomore album 'A Distant Call', which is scheduled to arrive on August 23, following up 2017's 'Need To Feel Your Love'.

The track is another lo-fi 70's rock revival and arrives with a videodirected by Jonathan Arturo. Expanding on Hardly To Blame, guitarist Matt Palmer said:

"In Hardly To Blame we see the psychic landscape of Philadelphia transformed by the collapse of Tina’s relationship with her partner. The streets they used to walk together, the bars they used to drink at, and the friends they used to share have all been tainted by the lingering memories of their time together.

"Closing out side A of 'A Distant Call', Hardly to Blame shows Tina spiraling further down and down. Unfortunately the worst is yet to come, but Hardly to Blame gives us a glimpse at someone who thinks they’ve hit bedrock, unaware that the bottom is about to drop out."

The band will support the new record with North American and European tours in the autumn, with the latter including stops in Manchester, Dublin and Leeds following their set at Mirrors Festival in London on November 2.
