Overtime boasts production by Hit-Boy, Key Wane and the Tucker Brothers, and marks the American rapper's first new material under his own steam since his 2017 albums 'I Decided' and 'Double Or Nothing' — the latter being a collaboration with Metro Boomin.
He's also had a few guest spots on other artists' tracks since then, the latest being DJ Khaled's Jealous alongside Lil Wayne and Chris Brown.
The new song finds Big Sean spitting candid bars about his career and personal life over hip hop beats and a deep bassline, until the lead up to the two-minute mark when everything shifts to an offbeat rhythm and the rapper's bars become more urgent.
Introducing the track online, he said: "I miss this feeling so much! Feels good to be back! OVERTIME OUT NOW! The energy is up!!!"
