Sam Smith has announced their third album, 'To Die For'.

The follow-up to 2017's 'The Thrill of it All' is set to arrive on May 1. It's led by the title track lead single, a heartfelt ballad that opens with a sample from the 2001 film Donnie Darko. It finds Smith once again working alongside friend and frequent collaborator Jimmy Napes. Discussing the track, Smith said:

"Releasing this song is going to be a wild one – I feel like it’s from one of the deepest parts of me. I wrote this with Jimmy Napes and Stargate in LA during a time of self-discovery and heartbreak. This is for all the lonely hearts out there on another Valentine’s Day xx"

The new song follows previous releases How Do You Sleep, a cover of Donna Summer's I Feel Love and a joint effort with Normani, Dancing with a Stranger
