Neil Hannon's the Divine Comedy will celebrate their 30th anniversary this year with a special London residency and reissue programme.
Hannon will be accompanied by an 11-piece ensemble at the Barbican for five nights in early September, playing two albums in their entirety each night.
Kicking off the series on September 2, the band will perform 1993's 'Liberation' and 1994's 'Promenade', while the following day will see them run through 1996's 'Casanova' and 1997's 'A Short Film Album About Love'.
They'll play 1998's 'Fin de Siècle' and 2001's 'Regeneration' on September 4, followed by 2004's 'Absent Friends' and 2006's 'Victory for the Comic Muse' the next day. The residency will conclude on September 6 with a performance of 2010's 'Bang Goes the Knighthood' and 2016's 'Foreverland'.
The band will also repeat the run in Paris between September 25 and 29, with tickets for all dates on general sale at 10am local time on April 27.
Alongside the news, Hannon has announced the reissue of nine the Divine Comedy albums this summer, with all of the above records — except 'Foreverland' — re-released as deluxe, expanded editions on August 21.
For the completists, there's the option of a 12 CD boxset, 'Venus, Cupid, Folly And Time – Thirty Years Of The Divine Comedy', containing all remastered CD albums with bonus material, as well as new editions of 2016’s 'Foreverland' and 2019's 'Office Politics'. Head here for further details.
