J Balvin Releases New Album 'Colores'

Friday, 20 March 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

J Balvin has released his new album, 'Colores'.

The record marks the Grammy-nominated Colombian reggaeton star's sixth studio LP and first release since 2019's collaborative album with Bad Bunny, 'Oasis'. It's also his first solo full-length since 2018's 'Vibras'.

The release boasts collaborations with Mr. Eazi and Sky Rompiendo, as well as production from DJ Snake and Afro Bros, Justin Quiles and Diplo. As the title suggests, it's themed around colours, with the 34-year-old reflecting different shades through 10 tracks. He said:

"The idea of making 'Colores' came to me in a moment of leisure. I was calm and I got the idea of naming the album 'Colores'. And I thought… 'Why not name each song after a color?' Each person will have their own perception of each color [in] the album. Maybe they can close their eyes and [Rojo] isn’t red to them, but blue."

Head below for the 'Colores' Takashi Murakami artwork and tracklist, which features the previously shared cuts Rojo (Red), Morado (Purple), and Blanco (White). Balvin has also dropped a video for Amarillo (Yellow), a lively fusion of latin rhythm and dancehall.
