The Cat Empire Announce 10th Studio Album 'Bird In Paradise'

The Cat Empire have laid out plans for their 10th studio album.
The Australian band will release 'Bird In Paradise' through BMG on March 7, following up 2023's 'Where The Angels Fall'.
Featuring 10 songs, the record is in vibrant and joyful territory, evoking global influences, as heard on the previously released singles, La Gracia, Blood On The Stage and Doing Fine. Frontman Felix Riebl commented:
"'Bird In Paradise' is an Australian-Flamenco, Afro-Cuban project. We've drawn from the themes of contemporary flamenco and Cuban music, and combined it with the grit, and toughness of Aussie rock history. Add Ollie's jazz influence and you have a sound only The Cat Empire can create."
The group will share a fourth track from the record, Devil, on January 31. Introducing it with a post on social media, the band wrote:
"(Devil) is a big song with many sections and moods. It features a dramatic and cinematic flamenco guitar and string orchestra intro, as well as blazing mariachi style trumpets, and Felix (Riebl) singing in Yindjibarndi (a community he’s had a strong relationship with for many years). Michael Woodley - a leader in that community - co-wrote the chorus with Felix. We can’t wait for you all to hear it."
The Cat Empire have scheduled their Bird In Paradise Tour across North America for early summer, following a run of Australian shows that includes an appearance at Byron Bay Bluesfest on April 19. Tickets are on sale now.
