Experimental rock band Mr Bungle have returned with a bang, unleashing a cover of the Exploited’s politically-charged track USA.
This take on the punk anthem is their first new release since 1999’s ‘California’. For one month they will donate 100% of the proceeds to MusiCare’s Covid-19 Relief Fund, which offers critical assistance to those in the music industry affected by the pandemic. A limited edition t-shirt accompanies USA and will be available until July 4.
The current incarnation of the band sees original members Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn and Trey Spruance team up with Scott Ian (Anthrax & S.O.D) and Dave Lombardo (Dead Cross, ex-Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies). Discussing the track, Spruance said:
"Doesn't matter what part of the political spectrum you are on, everyone at some point has said 'Fuck the USA'. The closest thing we have to a universal sentiment,"
