Vocalist Tom Meighan Leaves Kasabian

Monday, 06 July 2020 Written by Huw Baines

Tom Meighan has left Kasabian.

According to a statement from the indie giants, the vocalist is “stepping down from Kasabian by mutual consent.”

“Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track. We will not be commenting further,” it continues.

Meighan co-founded Kasabian in Leicester in the late ‘90s, and has performed on each of their six studio LPs. It’s unclear at this stage whether the band—completed by guitarist Sergio Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards and drummer Ian Matthews—will seek a replacement.

Following Kasabian's statement Meighan issued a short message of his own, adding: "Following today's announcement I just wanted to let you all know that I am doing well. I'm in a really good place now. Thanks for all your love and support. I'll be seeing you all very soon."
