Aluna Confirms August Arrival of 'Renaissance', Shares Single With Princess Nokia and Jada Kingdom

Aluna has announced details of her debut solo LP and shared a new single, Get Paid.
The track, which features Princess Nokia and Jada Kingdom, is the third to emerge from ‘Renaissance’ following Body Pump and Warrior, a collaboration with SG Lewis. The AlunaGeorge vocalist's album is out on August 28 through Mad Decent.
“It’s about two things. It’s aspirational, because Black women and women of color need to get paid,” Aluna told Apple Music's Ebro Darden. “It’s also about what happens when you are not paid for centuries is that you don’t even believe it’s OK to get paid. It’s also about an aspirational celebration of allowing yourself to be paid.”
In a statement about 'Renaissance', she added: "I wrote this album as a fix for any type of dancing deficiencies you may have in your life - if you haven’t been twerking enough lately - I GoT you, if you haven’t been dutty winin’ on the bathroom floor or raving in your hallway I GOT you, if you haven’t been slinky slinking in front of the mirror or nodding your head like it’s heavy I GOOOT you, if you haven’t hit the gwara gwara in the kitchen or....ok you get it...I GOT you."
