Elvis Costello has served up another slice of his forthcoming album.
The bluesy Hey Clockface/How Can You Face Me? is a piano-pop stomper built around a charismatic vocal lead from the legendary singer-songwriter. He said: “This is a song about picking an argument with time, the very clock face, either running too fast or too slow, depending on the company you keep”.
The chirpy track will feature on his new LP, ‘Hey Clockface’, due to arrive on October 30 via Concord Records and follow up 2018’s ‘Look Now’. It follows the previously released cuts Hetty O'Hara Confidential, No Flag and We Are All Cowards.
Back in March, Costello was forced to postpone his spring UK tour dates due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with new dates yet to be confirmed. Keep up to date in real time with new information via Stereoboard.
